These relief shields were created for the Gifford Pinchot HOME
in Washington, D.C. The plasters were on display at The Gorham
Co. Founders for an exhibition October 6-25, 1913. Proctor met Gifford
Pinchot while visiting the home of Henry Stimsons father.
Proctor and Pinchot became the best of friends, and Proctor named one of
his sons Gifford after Pinchot. During a time of few commissions,
Pinchot loaned Proctor some money to help him. Identifying marks:
