In 1894, the three-foot version of this statue was the first bronze ever cast by Proctor. One bronze was presented to Teddy Roosevelt by the Tennis Cabinet when he left the Presidency. The larger bronze proved to be so popular that Proctor decided to create the smaller version, and make it available tot he public. Identifying marks: signed A. Phimister Proctor; trademark coin.
